I bet if you’re old enough, you remember the 1970’s hit song, FEELINGS, sung by a guy named Morris Albert. Never heard of Morris?
Yeah, me neither.
But the song is one you can’t get out of your head once it’s there.
Sorry…
Feelings are a very misunderstood topic. It seems like since childhood, feelings have been talked about, “You hurt my FEELINGS!” Or as we got older perhaps part of a counselor’…s questions, “When he/she does that, how does that make you FEEL?” Somewhere along our journey in life, we’ve talked about feelings and maybe even had a psychology course or two where we got to hear the clinical side of how they work. HERE’S THE TRUTH. WE ALL HAVE FEELINGS!

Some are GOOD, some are CONFUSING, and some downright DESTRUCTIVE.
It’s not about what FEELINGS DO WE HAVE? It’s about how much POWER and CONTROL we give them. When you first wake up in the morning, do you wait to see what your FEELINGS have to say before you know what kind of day you’re going to have?
If you do, then LOOK OUT! You’ve just been HIJACKED!
You see FEELINGS don’t remember commitments we’ve made, and they totally have no respect for our already set PRIORITIES. FEELINGS just ebb and flow and can sometimes be very UNPREDICTABLE.
And that’s why the WORST BATTLE YOU HAVE TO FIGHT ALL DAY IS BETWEEN WHAT YOU KNOW AND WHAT YOU FEEL.
Our feelings add a special dimension to our lives and allow us to experience the greatest pleasures and the deepest sorrows. But don’t make the mistake of letting them call all the shots and determine whether your day is UP or DOWN. FEELINGS, whoa, whoa, whoa FEELINGS… Who’s in the driver’s seat today?
